As a professional remodeling company that now focuses solely on bathrooms in Northern Illinois, we don't get many people asking us about kitchens any more, but before we became bathroom specialists, we remodeled dozens of kitchens.  And it's not uncommon for a house with an outdated bathroom to also have an outdated kitchen because they were likely built about the same time. So, local homeowners frequently raise a question about which project to do first, a bathroom or the kitchen.

And while we agree with MOST of what this article details when comparing kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects, it misses one very important point with myth number three: Yes, remodeling projects in general can be disruptive and productive at the same time, but 92% of the homes we work within have at least a SECOND bathroom that can be used by the family during the five to ten days while we are improving the home. We try to limit family interruptions as much as possible, but there are always some slight inconveniences. 

We do not, however, run into too many homes with a second kitchen, but there's always that fancy grill outside!
