Our latest project in Gurnee, IL started with a list of client wants for their Master Bath remodel; a larger shower, a soaking tub, a larger window, removal of closets and a water closet that felt bigger with better lighting. Our designer met with the clients to review their plans, listening carefully to their wants and needs, followed by a field visit to take measurements and photos. While the Diamond Bath Remodeling proposal was one of three considered, these clients selected Diamond Bath based upon our professionalism and a great design proposal that included the removal of a closet to provide cabinetry for a separate make-up area and a shower space that was nearly twice the size of the original. Our Diamond Bath team collaborated with these clients on many important decisions including selecting flooring, shower tile with a custom tiled pan, wall tile, counter top materials, cabinetry, cabinet hardware, a new window, shower glass enclosures and faucetry. The larger custom shower included a built in bench and a shower niche. The subway tile on the upper third of the walls was completed in a herringbone pattern and the ceiling was tiled as well. A polished nickel finish was selected for the rain shower head, body sprays, the handheld and the shower valve as well. A frameless glass enclosure was installed with a heavy glass swing door that features matching polished nickel hinges and door handle to complete this gorgeous custom-crafted shower. The clients selected an ivory painted finish for all the cabinetry, including the new make-up vanity area and a linen closet cabinet. Quartzite granite countertops provided a beautiful compliment to the new cabinetry and the oil rubbed bronze cabinet hardware selected by the homeowners was good contrast to the sheen and warmth of the polished nickel faucetry and fixtures. A larger window replaced a half circle window and a 66” long Victoria & Albert lava-stone soaker tub was positioned up against a knee wall with a herringbone tile pattern to provide a backdrop to the beautiful tub and the Roman tub faucet, also in polished nickel. We completed the project by adding beveled mirrors in the make-up area and running the mirrors all the way up to the new crown moulding. More beveled mirrors surrounded the recessed cabinets and the new light fixtures set into the mirrors elevated this new master bathroom to something that looks more like Hollywood than Gurnee! And once again, Diamond Bath delivers an incredible bathroom for some very happy local clients!
