Black Toilets: Elegant or Eighties?

Recently the magazine Realty Today created a Seven Newest Trends to Try for Bathroom Design.  We were pretty comfortable with just about all of them and kept nodding in agreement until we reached the bottom: Black Fixtures.  Actually, they mentioned black, white and gold, but we have lost track of how many black fixtures we pulled out over the years.  Is this a case of everything that is old is new again?
